In April 2007, Gütegemeinschaft Ernährung and the food retail industry launched the Qualitätsgemeinschaft Kaninchen (Rabbit Quality Union) following video reports on rabbit rearing inappropriate to the species.

 

Together with the distributive trade, producers and scientists, the Qualitätsgemeinschaft Kaninchen has enforced strict standards governing rabbit keeping and the processing and marketing of rabbit meat products.

 

The Qualitätsgemeinschaft Kaninchen's logo stands for strictly controlled and high-quality products.
